Record Haul - part II

I too, get into a bit of the ol' vinyl collecting the these were the last three gems that I picked up a few weeks ago. Lightnin' Hopkin 'Country Blues' from Rough Peel Music is real cool and makes me do happy dancing.

This Andrew Lloyd Webber Premiere Collection was in the bargain bins at RPM and I got it for a steal for only $5. My parents had this record and when my sister and I were really young we would put this on and scream around the lounge. Very nostalgic times - this is now my go-to house cleaning music.

1980's head shots.

The best and most awesome record I found over the last few weeks is a brand new Dr. Dre '2001'. My cousin Tylee brought this record to my house when we were teens and it prompted a full blown lecture about the dangers of drugs by Professor Dad. I remember it so vividly ~ the opening sentence was "this is a picture of a Marijuana leaf!". He must be a good parent because the album cover still sparks an adverse reaction inside my brain.
I have been searching for this for years and they had it stocked at JB hi-fi?! The record also had a voucher for an MP3 download of the album - very very very cool.

  1. That turntable is ridiculous. Hook a honky up.

    1. Thanks, it is a sweet Linn LP12 which was squirrelled away in a storage shed for 30 years. Bill at W T Audio is a master and hooked us up with a nice amp too. If only I could afford a Linn cartridge...
